Freddie is in great voice tonight, having rested it for a few months (minus the initial recording sessions for the A Day At The Races album, which would be completed in November).
Freddie, after Flick Of The Wrist: "This is a medley we do every time we do a show, only we've lengthened it this time. And to start the medley off, a song called You're My Best Friend." It's their current single release.
Following Brian's solo spot and debut album snippet, Freddie says: "That was a slightly shorter version of a song called Son And Daughter, and featured Brian May on guitar." Brian then takes over the proceedings. "Right, we're gonna have a bit of fun. An impromptu version of a song called '39." After the song, Freddie says, "that's the second time we've done that number," indicating that it was played last night as well.
After the song Freddie reveals, "That's the second time we've done that number." He continues, "We're now gonna do a song, which is a new one from our forthcoming album." The audience are in unanimous favour of the idea of hearing new material to the point that Freddie jokingly asks, "Have you got it yet?" Of course, everyone responds with a resounding no. "This is a little ditty called You Take My Breath Away."
"What do you want?" asks Freddie after the ballad. "Liar, eh? Right now we're gonna do a number from our album A Night At The Opera. Every night we do this number it keeps getting better, depending on the audience and the rapport. So let's see what we do tonight. A song called.. a number called The Prophet's Song."
Assuming the review of last night's show is telling the story chronologically, Keep Yourself Alive and Tie Your Mother Down are swapped in the setlist for tonight. Most of the lyrics and a few drum parts of Tie Your Mother Down haven't been completely worked out yet.
Most of the pictures were submitted by Alessio Rizzitelli. As seen in the sixth shot, things clearly got a bit out of hand during the encore, and three security guards are pictured above taking care of business.
