This is the first of two nights at the Stadthalle in Vienna, a venue Queen had regularly played since 1978.

Instead of giving his usual speech about the Queen breakup rumours, Freddie sings the intro to Mustapha tonight.

Freddie sings 'Get Down Make Love' a few times during the impromptu - the last time he'd reference the raunchy News Of The World track on stage.

Although the footage is a bit dark at times, nearly the complete show was filmed from the audience from the twelfth row. During the extended instrumental break of Now I'm Here, Brian is seen dropping his six-pence, but he continues to play improvised lead parts with his fingers. He then makes his way over to his mic stand, grabs a spare six-pence attached to it, and continues to let it rip without missing a beat.

Before Love Of My Life, someone shouts "Happy Birthday" to Brian, and he thanks them with a chuckle. The audience then sing Happy Birthday to him, to which he replies, "That's enough, thank you very much. It's my birthday morgen." [which is German for "tomorrow", although his birthday was two days ago] "I like birthdays!" he concludes.

Freddie messes up the lyrics to Radio Ga Ga in the same place he did at the last gig in Cologne.

A heartwarming scene closes out the show. Freddie, as usual on this tour, comes out for the final bow with his robe and crown. He throws the crown to Roger, insisting "Pass it on!" Roger then throws it to John, and John tosses it (underhand, and of course with both hands) to Spike Edney. They all leave the stage with smiles on their faces.

The first two photos were taken by Dave Matkin and Thomas Tragfeit respectively. The other two could be from either night in Vienna, the first of which was submitted by Janneman.

Not only does this recording sound so great because it was taped close to the stage with supremely good gear, but also because the Stadthalle in Vienna was one of the few indoor venues on the tour. It's free of that dry-sounding outdoor sound, and full of natural reverb, beautifully capturing Queen's bigger-than-ever 1986 sound. Freddie's voice and the band's vocal harmonies sound especially gorgeous in Who Wants To Live Forever.

Breakdown processed the recordings of both nights horribly.

At least they were efficient and squeezed both nights onto three discs.

Wardour released both shows in early 2010. They also included a DVD of the film of the first night.

The transfer of the master was probably used, and it has been EQ'd to bring out more treble.
